Over the course of the past week I have been watching a lot of films, I didn't watch my usual types of films but tried to venture outwards and widen my ideas further. I watched the opening scenes of three films but was un able to finish them completely. the films I watched include an Indie Superhero Comedy, called alter egos. this film seemed to be produced from a very low budget with very basic actors. The narrative of the film was very different and interesting but the production and shots were not as good. The opening of the film didn't really make much sense as there wasn't much dialogue and it kept flashing from the past to the present. It almost seemed like neither the cast of the crew knew exactly what they were doing. other than that it was quite a good film and I enjoyed watching it.
The second film I began to watch was another interpretation of the classic Shakespearian play Romeo and Juliet. This film was released in 2013 and unlike the previous remake with Leonardo Dicaprio his was not a spin on modern society and the play itself but it created the film like it were to be the play, it was set in the correct era and only used the specific props and clothing items of that specific time. The opening scene were very intriguing and they made you want to watch every second and not miss out on a single piece, although everyone knows the story anyway some how it managed to make it different and interesting enough to want to watch more. I really enjoyed watching this film and cant wait till I have the time again to finish watching it. I really enjoyed how they kept the old Victorian language and made it almost unique to the other films out at the same time. in the poster the couple are seen in close view looking into each other with hand on face and hair lines aligned, the way the image is presented gives it an almost modern feel to the classic tale.
The last film I watched was called the tales of Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn. this film was really badly shot and it made it annoying to watch, there was a lot of tracking shots when there really didn't need to be. And the angles were really un flattering. the film itself was good, the location was nice but the actors didn't really seem to know how to speak the accent so they kept loosing it from time to time. they had managed to use a few higher class actors but none of these were main characters which was quite disappointing as they in some scenes seemed to know what they were doing more than the others. but other than a few drawbacks the film was very good and I enjoyed watching it with my family.

These have all opened up my eyes to the genres and types of films I could create and how different genres use dialogue and costumes differently to help present their films.
